I’m reading…

6 January 2012 – Aren’t Summer holidays supposed to be about catching up on reading? In my brief holiday break I didn’t look at the printed word other than to flick through some magazines and a newspaper page or two.

However, I have begun The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman and I have high hopes it might be a life (or love) changing book. My partner has it too. I’m keen for him to start so as we can scribble our respective pencil notes in the margins and then talk about them. I’m guessing there’ll be a blog post in it.

28 September 2011Breath by Tim Winton. What is it about Tim Winton? Why is his writing so wonderful and so hard to put down? It’s not hard to believe that he is writing from a great knowledge and love of the worlds he writes about – the surf, the small towns, the people from the WA regions. Is it his love of this world that draws us in?

22 August – I’m now reading Kate Morton’s The Forgotten Garden. Bit of a page turner…

Early AugustThe life by Malcolm Knox. So good it’s making me want to learn to surf…

It’s my book club’s book of the month so I’ll be discussing it on the last Wednesday of the month, 31 August. Lovely group of people at the book club for the Sun Bookshop in Yarraville, Melbourne
